Panning for Gold in the Streams of God's Love

“How comprehensive is the love of Jesus! There is no part of His people's interests that He does not consider, and there is nothing that concerns their welfare that is not important to Him.” – C.H. Spurgeon
Read those words again… and meditate on them for a minute or two.
The God of the universe is aware of you and your needs, thinks about you continuously, and is willing to move heaven and earth on your behalf to fulfill His perfect will for your life.
Makes you feel kind of special, doesn’t it?
Some of God’s blessings that demonstrate His unfathomable love are visible to the naked eye, such as His daily provisions. Others require a little digging below the surface, but they are there nonetheless… just like the veins of gold that lie underground are far more valuable than the small nuggets that prospectors find when they are panning in a stream.
Speaking of panning, Deanna and I have taken our grandkids to several tourist attractions – from the Ark Encounter in KY to Wild Florida in FL – where they sold bags of sand loaded with small gemstones. Watching Brady, Sadie, Levi, and Dylan dump the sand into sifters while rushing water revealed the hidden quartz, pyrite, obsidian, and other treasures was priceless indeed.
My friend, here are some closing words from Charles Spurgeon that – like the rushing waters referenced above – will reveal even more aspects of God’s indescribable love for His children.
“Do you think, Christian, that you can measure the love of Christ? Consider what His love has brought you—justification, adoption, sanctification, eternal life! The riches of His goodness are unsearchable; you will never be able to convey them or even conceive them.”
“Oh, the breadth of the love of Christ! Shall such a love as this have only half our hearts? Shall it have a cold love in return? Shall Jesus' marvelous loving-kindness and tender care be met with only faint response and delayed acknowledgment? My soul, tune your harp to a glad song of thanksgiving! Go to your rest rejoicing, for you are not a desolate wanderer but a beloved child, watched over, cared for, supplied, and defended by your Lord.”
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 (KJV)
