It's Almost Dinner Time

“Think how much grace one saint requires, so much that nothing but the Infinite could supply him for one day; and yet the Lord spreads His table not for one, but for many saints; not for one day, but for many years; not for many years only, but for generation after generation.” – C.H. Spurgeon

On Sunday afternoon, Deanna and I drove from Vero Beach to Titusville for a family tradition. Every year, sometime in March, we gather at the Dixie Crossroads restaurant to meet up with “Aunt Karen and Uncle Charlie,” relatives on Deanna’s side of the family who are snowbirds in the Ocala area.

As in previous years, Deanna’s sister and her family joined us as did all three of our kids and their families. Table for 20, please!

To accommodate the 12 adults, two teenagers, and six kids ages nine and under, the waitresses had to move a bunch of tables around, but they somehow managed… and the food was delicious. I ordered blackened mahi with a side salad and their famous cheese grits and Deanna had a sirloin steak cooked to perfection. Of course, each table also had multiple baskets of Dixie Crossroads renowned corn fritter balls topped with powdered sugar that are a meal by themselves.

After lunch, we headed outside for a family picture and to feed the fish and turtles in the pond adjacent to the restaurant. All in all, it was very memorable day… made even better by a stop on the way home for some ice cream at Culver’s.

My friend, someday you and I will be feasting on heavenly food at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. I have no idea what will be on the menu – I hope it’s pasta – but there is one thing I am absolutely sure about… we won’t run out of food. Not at that banquet nor at any other meal throughout eternity.

God’s resources are limitless, and He invites you to dine at His table by trusting Jesus as your Savior today if you haven’t already done so.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:30 (BSB)

“And the angel said to me, ‘Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ And he said to me, ‘These are the true words of God.’” Revelation 19:9 (ESV)
