“Our business is to seek Jesus early in life. Happy are the young whose morning is spent with Jesus! It is never too soon to seek the Lord Jesus.” – C.H. Spurgeon

An upstairs bedroom at 2337 48th Street in Pennsauken NJ.

The passenger seat of a gray Ford Taurus station wagon, parked on Main Street in Maple Shade NJ.

A brick sidewalk in Historic New Castle DE.

What is so special about those three places and what do they all have in common? Those are the exact locations where our three precious children – Bethany, Matthew, and Christopher – trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

At the tender age of four!

If you are a parent or a grandparent, waiting for the “perfect time” to share the gospel with your child or grandchild… that perfect time is NOW! Don’t wait another minute. You would be amazed at how – even at such a young age – a child can understand the concepts of God, sin, heaven, and hell.

Please don’t get me wrong. I am not suggesting that you force your child to make a premature decision for Christ. That is one of the worst – and most spiritually damaging – things you can do, because they are apt to go through life with a false sense of (eternal) security.

However, I am advocating that you plant enough spiritual seeds along the way that when your child is ready and God has prepared their young heart, they will ask you how they can be saved.

At least that was our experience as parents… and Bethany, Matt, and Chris are actively following Jesus to this very day.

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” Matthew 19:14 (BSB)
