MISSIONS…the very word should stir the soul of every true believer. And yet, because they usually equate missions with sacrifice, many Christians shy away from the subject altogether. Mission trips are for other people, they tell themselves.
But Christ’s command in Acts 1:8 was meant for all of His disciples, not just a chosen few.
Read the words of Hudson Taylor, founder of the China Inland Mission…
“It will not do to say that you have no special call to go to China. With these facts before you and the command of the Lord Jesus Christ to go and preach the gospel to every creature, you need rather to ascertain whether you have a special call to stay at home.”
We believe that one of the best ways for church members to become true “Risk Takers for Christ” is for them to leave their spiritual comfort zones in order to boldly share their faith. For this reason, Risk Takers for Christ conducts several short-term mission trips every year. Some are to prisons across America, others involve inner city ministry. Still others focus on rural areas of our country where poverty runs rampant and the spiritual need remains great.
Risk Takers for Christ also provides speakers for mission conferences, challenging believers to consider whether or not God would have them to fulfill the Great Commission as career, bi-vocational or short-term missionaries.
