From Warlock to Business Whiz

“Don't be too hard on yourselves, the instant you made that mistake and committed that sin you officially became a member of the human race; a condition that is flawed and soiled with imperfection. If we could be perfect, Jesus Christ would not have had to sacrifice His life in order to forgive our many sins.” – Bob Williamson
Bob Williamson knows what he is talking about. I met him several years ago when, through a mutual friend, he accepted my invitation to conduct a multi-day speaking tour of Indian River County. From the time Bob, his wife Teresa, and his friend Kenny Munds arrived in Vero Beach, I put them to work.
During his whirlwind tour, Bob shared his testimony at a Christian business luncheon, our local jail, a couple of churches, a pro-life luncheon, a radio station, and a Christian school… and what a testimony it is! Raised by a demanding father who told Bob that he would never amount to anything, Bob spent the first 22 years of his life trying to prove his dad right. While attending 19 different schools, he got involved with drugs, alcohol and sex at an early age, was kicked out of the army after being diagnosed as a sociopath and served time behind bars. Bob also dabbled in the occult and even became a warlock for a short period of time.
Then, following a near-fatal car accident, Bob came to know Jesus as his Savior through the ministry of a Christian nurse at the hospital where he was being treated. God soon blessed Bob with a beautiful wife, a wonderful family, and a successful business career. At last count, Bob has started 15 different companies, one of which he sold for a whopping $75 million. Not too bad for a once-homeless sociopath!
Today, Bob leads a ministry called The Jesus Alliance. He has also authored two books, “The Miracle on Luckie Street” and “Crazy Like Foxes”. I haven’t read the latter book yet, but the first one I couldn’t put down once I picked it up. However, be forewarned, it is definitely “R-rated” as Bob doesn’t pull any punches – or spare any language – when recounting his days on the street.
Bob Williamson is living proof that no one is beyond the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. So am I and hopefully, so are you. If not, I urge you to trust Him today!
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” I Timothy 1:15 (NKJV)
