Don't Be a 90%er!

“A Christian should so shine in his life that a person could not live with him a week without knowing the Gospel.” – C.H. Spurgeon
The surveys are dismal, disturbing and downright depressing? To which surveys am I referring? The ones that say that more than 90% of professing Christians never share their faith with a nonbeliever.
Let me repeat… more than 90% of people who claim to be Jesus’s disciples never – not even once – tell someone else about Him. An even higher percentage of self-identifying Christians never lead a lost person to saving faith in Him.
How can that be? Do they not understand the glorious reality of heaven… and the tragic consequence of hell? If they truly comprehend that Jesus took their sins upon Himself and died in their place, how can they remain silent? Should not their hearts be bursting with gratitude and their lips filled with unending praise?
Today’s quote by Charles Spurgeon begs the following question: if a complete stranger came to live at your house (or mine) for a week, would they discover who Jesus is and how to place their faith and trust in Him? Or would you and I “zip our lip”, hoping that they stumbled onto God’s plan of salvation somehow – and somewhere – else?
Don’t be a “90%’er”. Open your mouth and say something about Jesus… today!
“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38 (NKJV)
